As most of the Salisbury community probably knows David Myers, local musician was in an accident earlier in the week.  David is currently in the hospital, has had numerous surgeries & the family is waiting to know the full extent of his injuries.

David & his girlfriend Ashley are not only friends of the farm they are friends of ours.

WTF NEWS- March 14th

Happy Friday!

 

 

No Farmers Markets Tomorrow but I should be around the farm in the afternoon.  Just give me a call and come to the farm & stock up.

 

 

Don't forget to stock up on our smoked items! There will be very limited supply of Smoked Chops, Smoked Polish, and Maple Breakfast Links so if you've been waiting on these it will be a good time to stock your freezer while we have them. 

 

For our Charlotte Peeps- Don't forget that we are keeping some items stocked at Greeneman Farms in the 7th Street Market.  They usually keep a variety of WTF products including our sausages, hotdogs, ham steaks, and chicken.  There are also a few nice racks of WTF lamb & some fresh rosemary sprigs down there that would make an excellent dinner for someone.  If they don't keep what you want in stock, we'll be glad to drop off an order for you there so you can pick it up at your convenience.  

 

Spring CSA- Many of you have been asking about our Spring CSA, well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we will not have a spring CSA this year.  Between our tractor being in the shop for 2 months and all of the rain turning our gardens (including the cold frame) into mud we have not been able to get any ground prepped and ready to plant.  We will hopefully have a few stray veggies to sell every now & then but we are not able to commit to a CSA at this time.  I can't rule out a summer CSA at this time though so stay tuned.

Don't forget tomorrow is market day at the Davidson Farmers Market and the weather is looking better than today!!!  

 

DFM- 9-11am tomorrow

 

Domisty will be working the trailer so take it easy on her and plan on getting there by 11am.  Sorry for the short hours but we have to make a few presentaions at the Organic Growers School in Asheville this weekend so we'll have to cut out a little early.

Don't forget tomorrow is market day at DFM and it looks like great weather for a change!!!  It's hard to believe that a week ago we were fighting 7 inches of snow and this week we've had t shirt weather but that's North Carolina for you!

 

This week we'll be restocked on beef and pork.  We also had the chance to get a few pigs down to the coast to get a few smoked products made. WTF News- February 7th

Happy Friday!

 

We are running full steam ahead going into spring.  We have several hundred meat chickens eating us out of house & home, more future laying hens, new baby lambs hitting the ground everyday, lots of beef steers waiting on the grass to come out, and of course- lots of piggies.  So as you can see, we are building up to have another great year and hopefully provide even more great local food to all of you.  

 

 

Come see us at the Davidson Farmers Market tomorrow 9-Noon - Hopefully we won't have any rain or sub-artic temperatures to contend with at this market
