SFM- December 5th


Hey Market Friends,
I hope you all had a delightful Thanksgiving.

It looks like another pretty weekend! We've got some good gift ideas if you're looking for inspiration. Come check us out!

Consider the Farmers' Market this giving season...

Some of our work at the farmers' market involves cooking demos and community outreach. We've visited Catawba College, the Master Gardeners association and Southeast Middle School among other places to talk about the benefits of local food. Bread Basket

Dinner rolls, rustic style cranberry bread, rustic style rosemary bread, sour dough and multigrain breads, Persimmon pudding,  apple- and pecan- pie, toffee, whoopie pies, cookies, granola, and donuts. 

 

Connie Clark

Beautiful infinity scarves, gift baskets, pot holders, crocheted dishcloth, hand crafted cards, whoopie pies, (mint, peppermint and pumpkin) , classic gingerbread cookie mix, oatmeal chocolate cookie mix, chocolate candy cane cookie mix, peppermint hot chocolate mix, dark hot chocolate mix,white chocolate gingerbread mocha mix.

 

How Sweet It Is

Products this weekend include: pound cake, pies, cookies (all kinds), pumpkin bread, muffins, and fudge. Also brownies and coffee cakes.

 

OBX Seafood

Last week's list: Swordfish, Red Drum, Flounder, Scottish Salmon, Grouper, Halibut, Yellowfin Tuna, Cod, Black Sea Bass, Lg Sea Scallops, Jumbo & Large Shrimp, (21/25), Jumbo Peeled & Deveined Shrimp (16/20) , Littleneck Clams, OYSTERS (shucked and in shell)

 

Pruett Farm

Probable: Mustard Greens, tenderleaf greens, kale, turnip greens, collards, sweet potatoes and NC Grown Apples!


The Soap Shack

Newly returned to the market, Pat now has soaps back in stock as well as bath salts, sugar scrubs and candles. Last market, I walked into her tent and it smelled like a delicious margarita, we'll see what it smells like this time! 

 

Treehouse Soaps

Jean is back with new Shea Butter soap. Also bringing plenty of other select soaps: creamy buttermilk, a beer/Shea butter combo, and plenty of the ever popular eucalyptus- peppermint, plus many more!

 

Two Pigs Farm (Accepts WIC/Senior FMNP Vouchers):

They've also got their usual assortment of free range eggs, beef, pork, and chicken. Recent other products included: BACON. Veggies including tatsoi, Swiss chard, turnips and arugula. 

 

 

UpsideDown Farm

Bringing in microwavable potato bags and reusable Christmas bags. And I haven't heard about their mushroom offerings this week!
