Fresh Screening

Last night Wild Turkey Farms along with The Center for the Environment (Catawba College) & the Bread Riot group co-sponsored the screening of the movie Fresh.

I am happy to say that we had over 200+ people in attendance. That is amazing!! When me & Lee went to a screening held in Charlotte there were only about 30-35 people.

There was a local foods reception prior to the movie. All the food was local and including items such as fresh bread, local cheese, honey, and prepared items with meats and vegetables.

Farmers were welcome to display photos and have literature available for the attendees. I had our Wild Turkey Farm scrapbook on display.

The movie lasted about 70-minutes and afterward there was a panel discussion. There were 4 representatives on the panel and they covered 4 areas of interest. Dr. Christopher Magryta, a pediatrician, Maggie Blackwell, City Council member & Bread Riot member, Libby Post, school nutritionist & Lee Menius, farmer and sustainable agriculture advocate.

A special thanks to the Center for the Environment, the Bread Riot and all the volunteers that made it possible. Thanks also to everyone who came, we hope that you took something valuable away from the film.
